Biography

Born in 1927, Nekhvoroshch (Zhytomyr region). Graphic artist, painter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1987). Laureate of the regional (Khmelnytskyi region) Taras Shevchenko (1992) and V. Rozvadovskyi (1997) prizes; city (Khmelnytskyi) B. Khmelnytskyi Prize (2002). Member of the National Academy of Arts (1964). Participant of the Second World War. He graduated from the Odesa State Art School named after M. Hrekov (1956) and the Kyiv State Art Institute (1962). Teachers in the specialty: M. Pavliuk, H. Kryzhytskyi, O. Pashchenko, I. Selivanov. He headed the Feodosia Art Studio and taught at the Children’s Art School at the Art Gallery named after I. Aivazovsky (1960). He worked at the Khmelnytskyi Art and Production Plant, was the chairman of the artistic council, and chief artist. He taught at the Khmelnytskyi National University, associate professor (2004). Participant of exhibitions since 1957. He was awarded medals.
