Biography
Born in 1955, Tikhonkii (Krasnodar Territory, russia). Painter. People’s Artist of Ukraine (2001). Full member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2001). Honored Artist of Ukraine (1991). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1983). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2016). He was awarded the I. Ohienko Prize (2000) and the Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2004). Graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1982), postgraduate studies at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the USSR Academy of Arts (1986). Teachers in the specialty: V. Shatalin, V. Oreshnikov. Chairman of the Board of the Kyiv Organization of the Ukrainian Union of Artists (1988-1992). Professor of the Kyiv State Art Institute (1995), head of the painting workshop (2003). Recognized as the Artist of the Year at the Kyiv International Art Festival (1996). Participant of exhibitions since 1982.
