Biography
Born in 1906 in Burdiakivtsi (Ternopil region). Graphic artist, painter, sculptor. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1970). Member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists (1946). One of the founders and a member of the Lviv Art Association “Kraków Group” (1932-1937). Member of the Lviv Trade Union of Polish Plastic Artists (LZZPAP, 1935-1939). Head of the Lviv Art Union (1948-1949); head of the Society of Artists in Lviv (1949-1950). State awards. He studied in Paris (1930-1931) at Y. Pankevych; at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts (1931-1932), teachers: Yu. Megoffer, F. Pautch, V. Yarotskyi. He lived in Chortkiv since 1935, since 1946 – in Lviv.
