Biography
Born in 1931, Rakoshyne (Zakarpattia region). Painter, teacher. People’s Artist of Ukraine (1991). Member of the National Union of Artists (1962). Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2004). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2005), the Regional Prize named after Y. Bokshai and A. Erdeli (1995, 2005, 2010), the Art Prize named after T. Yablonska (2011). Member of the National Union of Artists (1962). He was awarded the Order of Yaroslav the Wise, V degree (2006) and IV degree (2011). He graduated from the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts (1950). Teachers in the specialty: A. Erdeli, Y. Bokshai, F. Manailo. Participant of exhibitions since 1957.
