Biography
Born in 1917, Smoliensk (russia). Painter. People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960), USSR (1982). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1951). Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1949, 1951, 1979), Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine (1998). Hero of Ukraine (2001). Full member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (1997). Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1944). She was awarded the silver medal of the Academy of Arts (1974), the bronze medal of the World Exhibition in Brussels (1958), the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1951), the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1977), the Presidential Award “For Merit” (1997), and medals. She graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1941). Her specialty teacher was F. Krychevskyi. She taught at this institute (1944-1952, 1966-1973), professor (1967). Member of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR (1951-1959). Participant of exhibitions since 1938.
