Maksym “Dali” Kryvtsov was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity in 2013-2014 and joined the Armed Forces as a volunteer in 2014. Later he worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of ATO and JFO Participants and at the Veteran Hub. In February 2022, Kryvtsov returned to the front again. On January 7, 2024, while defending his homeland, Maksym was killed in action in the Kharkiv region. The exhibition will feature Dali’s photographs taken with a film camera during 2022-2023, as well as personal belongings specially provided for the exhibition by his family. “Light never ends and begins inside the human heart. And these photographs, through which we look at life at war, lead us to the light – through the shadow. Many of the works are in black and white, and color penetrates this narrative with a powerful splash, what is it about? This is how black-and-white movies used to be colored: gradually, moving from object to object, filling it with volume, filling it with unknown magic,” says Daria Kryzh, the curator of the exhibition.
