Biography
Born in 1888, Uman (Cherkasy region). Painter, teacher. He graduated from the St. Pietierburg (1908) and Paris (1911) Academy of Arts. Teachers in the specialty: D. Kardovskii, P. Bonnar, M. Deni. He taught at the Ukrainian State Academy of Arts, rector (1920). He headed the workshop of monumental art at the Kharkiv Art Institute (1931). Since then he has been living in Moscow. 1935-1941 – Professor at the Institute for Advanced Training of Artists. Participated in exhibitions since 1913.
