Biography
Born in 1938 in the village of Brid, Zakarpattia region. Master of decorative and applied arts. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1970). People’s Artist of Ukraine (2007). Honored Artist of Ukraine (1989). Academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2001). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2002). Rector of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (2000-2015), professor. Founder and chairman of the organizing committee of ten international symposiums of blown glass in Lviv (1989-2016). Graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1965). Teachers in the specialty: R. Selskyi, K. Zvirynskyi. Silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1989). Participant of exhibitions since 1963.
