Biography
Born in 1941, Rybchyntsi (Vinnytsia region). Painter, graphic artist. People’s Artist of Ukraine (2009). Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine, International Slavic Academy of Arts, Science, and Culture. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1993). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine (1993). Graduated from the Dnipro State Art School (1965), teacher – Y. Kalashnyk; I. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1971). He taught at the Lieningrad Higher Art and Industrial School named after V. Mukhina (1972-1976). Professor, head of the historical painting workshop at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (since 1993). Participant of exhibitions since 1966.
