Biography
Born in 1911, Uzhhorod. Painter, graphic artist. People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1982). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1971). Member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists (1946). State awards of the USSR. He graduated from the Uzhhorod Public School of Drawing (1931). Teachers in the specialty: A. Erdeli, Y. Bokshai. He studied at the Rome Academy of Arts under F. Ferrozzi, Department of Monumental Painting (1940-1942). From 1946 – the founder and director of the House of Folk Art of Transcarpathian Ukraine; 1948-50 – a teacher at the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts. Participant in exhibitions since 1932.
