Biography
Born in 1905, Kholmy (Chernihiv region). Painter, teacher. People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1951). Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1968). Participant of the Second World War. He received combat awards. Graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1928). Teachers in the specialty: F. Krychevskyi, A. Syrotenko. He taught at this institute (1935-1941; 1947-1968), professor (1947).
