Biography
Born in 1878 in Astrakhan (russia). Painter, graphic artist, teacher. Academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1909). Member of the Union of Russian Artists (1907-1910), the World of Art Society (since 1910), and the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (1923). One of the founders of the New Society of Artists (1904). He was awarded a small gold medal at the International Exhibition in Munich (1901), a gold medal at the exhibition in Sweden (1914). He studied at the Higher Art School at the St. Peterburg Academy of Arts (1896-1903). His teachers were I. Riepin and V. Savinskii. He taught at the private studio of E. Zarudnaia-Kavos (1910), the New Art Workshop in St. Peterburg (1913). Participated in exhibitions since 1896.
