Biography
Born in 1856, Zmiiv (Kharkiv region). Painter, graphic artist. Member of the Society of South Russian Artists. He studied at the 2nd Kharkiv gymnasium with D. Bezperchyi, in the studio of E. Shreder and at the St. Pietierburg Academy of Arts (1878-1883), but did not complete the full course. His teachers were P. Chystiakov, V. Orlovskyi, and M. Klodt. He taught at the Kharkiv Drawing School of M. Raievska-Ivanova (from 1886). Founder of the Kharkiv Society of Art Lovers (1889). Participated in exhibitions since 1886.
