Biography
Born in 1941, Novoukrainka (Lviv region). Painter, graphic artist, teacher, art critic. People’s Artist of Ukraine (1999). Member of the National Union of Artists (1970). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1987). Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2004). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2014). Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V (2009), IV (2018) degrees. First Prize of the Lviv Biennial of Ukrainian Fine Arts (1991). Graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1965). Teachers in the specialty: V. Manastyrskyi, K. Zvirynskyi, D. Dovboshynskyi, R. Selskyi. Teaches at the Lviv Academy of Arts (since 1988), professor (2001). Participant of exhibitions since the 1960s.
