Biography
Born in 1908 in Kharkiv. Painter, graphic artist, teacher. People’s Artist of the USSR (1967). Member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists (1945). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1951). Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1948). Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1979). Participant of the Second World War. State awards of the USSR. He studied at the Kharkiv Art Institute (1933-1934). Graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1941). Teachers in the specialty: M. Fedorov, F. Krychevskyi. He taught at this institute (1945-1966). Professor (1960-61). Participant of exhibitions since 1946.
