He was born in 1875 in Kyiv. Painter, teacher, public figure. Member of the Society of Mobile Art Exhibitions (1915-1917). One of the organizers of the Kiev Society of Artists (1916). He studied at the Kyiv Drawing School named after M. Murashko. He graduated from St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1900). Teacher of the specialty – I. Repin. He studied at A. Ashbe’s studio in Munich (1901). Free listener of lectures in academies in Italy, France, and Germany (1901–1903). He taught at the Kyiv Art School (1909–1912), in his own studio (since 1913), and at the Natiolan Ukrainian Academy of Arts (since 1917). Exhibitor since 1900.
