Biography
Born in 1956, Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region). Theater artist, painter. Member of the National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine (1996), personal member of the international union of puppet theater artists UNIMA. Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko Regional Prize (2003). Laureate of national and international theater festivals: in Lutsk (1989/1996); “Silistra-89” and “Jan Bibiyan-96” in Bulgaria; “Kolyada-97” in Rivne; “Interlialka-98” in Uzhhorod, “Zolotyi Telesyk-99” and “Golden Telesyk-2001” in Lviv; “Podilska Lyalka-2001” in Vinnytsia; “Oberi” in Ivano-Frankivsk, 2001; in Katowice (Poland), 2002. Laureate of the Vladislav Klech International Prize (Ukraine-USA) in the field of scenography (2001). Diploma winner of the international festivals of puppet theaters Cook-Art VI, VII (St. Pietierburg, 2004, 2005). He was awarded the Lesya Ukrainka Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2005), prizes of festivals: “Arbuznyk (2006, Orienburg, Russia), White and Black (2007, Imatra, Finland). He graduated from the Odesa Theater and Art School (1981) and the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (1987). He has been working as the chief artist of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Puppet Theater since 1987. Participant of exhibitions since 1980.
