Biography
Born in 1909 in Bolotnia village, Kyiv region. People’s Artist of Ukraine (1989). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1970). Member of the National Union of Artists (1959). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (1966). She was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1960) and the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR (1977). 2009 – by the decision of UNESCO – was recognized as the year of Mariia Prymachenko. She has been participating in exhibitions since 1936.
