Biography
Born in 1860, Nizhyn (Chernihiv region). Painter, graphic artist. Academician of Painting (1890). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1937). Member of the Supreme Council of the Crimea (1940). Full member of the St. Pietierburg Academy of Arts (1913), professor (1912). He studied at the St. Pietierburg Academy of Arts (1879-1885). Teachers in the specialty: B. Willewalde, P. Chistiakov, W. Jacobi, E. Detaille. He headed the battle workshop of the St. Pietierburg Academy of Arts (until 1917). Founder of the Crimean Art School (1937).
