Biography

Born in 1921 in Rzhyshchiv (Kyiv region). Painter, graphic artist, monumentalist. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960). He was awarded a silver medal at the V World Festival of Youth and Students (1955). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine (1995, posthumously). Member of the Board of the Ukrainian National Union of Artists (1962). Participant of the Second World War. Graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1951). Teachers in the specialty: K. Yeleva, A. Petrytskyi. He taught at this institute (since 1981). Participant of exhibitions since 1949.
