Biography
Born in 1925, Husynka (Kharkiv region). Painter. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1999). Member of the National Union of Artists (1989), member of the National Association of Artists (1993). Laureate of the V. Stus (1989), L. and O. Tarasevych (1994), Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine (1995). He studied at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Academy of Arts of the USSR with a break (1947-1960). Teachers in the specialty: A. Mylnikov, V. Oreshnykov, M. Stepashkin. He worked in the Tiumien (1960-1961) and Ivano-Frankivsk (1961-1965) art funds. He was sentenced to 5 years in camps for “anti-people agitation and propaganda” (1965-1970).
