Biography
Born in 1923, Lavriv (Lviv region). Painter, graphic artist, teacher. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1997). Member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists (1992). He studied at the Lviv Art and Industrial School (1942-1946) and the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1947-1953, with a break). Teachers in the specialty: M. Butovych, V. Balias, R. Selskyi. He taught at the Lviv School of Applied Arts named after I. Trush (1953-1959) and the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1959-1982), professor. He was the head of the Lviv School of Iconography named after St. Luke at the Studite Fathers’ Monastery.
