Women’s emotions of war.
New realities – new feelings, new reflections.
From confusion to hope and victory.
Glory to Ukraine!
VIRA HORDYNSKA: “The series of paintings “230 February” consists of eight works – according to the number of months during which the large-scale war has been going on. These are eight trigger points in me that turned out to be the most painful. I’m grateful to my favorite artists whose motifs inspired me.”
MARIIA VLADYMYR: “The exhibition presents my works created during the war, during its various stages and states, which were either consciously or unconsciously transferred to paper. During the recent events, the body, mind and heart experienced a concentration of acceptance of reality with its present and potential developments, such as we would normally live for years, or even throughout our lives. Also, some of the works depict the stages when I realized that I couldn’t go on like this and searched for inner support to bring myself into balance, to keep going. Because only if I am in a state of balance, then only then can I help others.”
VIRA HORDYNSKA: “Moments of the twenty-second spring. The war of racism against Ukraine.
A diary in drawings.
…The sketches were not drawn immediately. They were born after the maximum emotionality of the day. Now every Ukrainian has his or her own rosary of moments of acute experience. When you feel fear, despondency, confusion, excitement, pain of loss, aggression, disdain for vomiting, hysteria and other variants of nervous shocks with every nerve, it begins to seem like there was no peacetime. These two months have become a lifetime – yours, Ukraine’s and all your fellow citizens’.
We are not comparing – everyone has their own story, and everyone is living it as best they can.
And it is not over yet.
