THE ALPHABET OF THE MASTER is a memorial retrospective exhibition of Mykhailo Andriychuk from the KHRMA collection, which includes 33 works by a prominent Ukrainian artist who recently passed away. 33 letters of the Ukrainian alphabet for the master of the art of graphics were sacred. Mykhailo Omelianovych was not only a talented universal graphic artist, but also a virtuoso calligrapher, teacher and poet. The last work he worked on was the alphabet for children, for which he created illustrations and wrote poetic riddles. In the exhibition space you have the opportunity to touch the immortal artistic heritage of the Master, try to unravel the mysterious nature of his work and remember the bright nobleman: the exhibition presents both the early pages of the thesis (1962) and philosophical and metaphorical works of recent years. “Often people do not attach importance to this law of heaven – the unity of opposites. Love and hate, winter and summer, good and evil, God and Satan, man and woman … But it is when opposites combine that we get energy, progress, birth, fruit. So I try to show in my works that it is good where this law applies ”… (Mykhailo Andriichuk). The text for the exhibition is a dedication to the artist’s work and life, a lyrical collage of works by the best Ukrainian poets arranged in alphabetical order.
