Kherson region is Ukraine!
Group exhibition
3 March 2023 - 4 April 2023

The story of Ukrainians fighting for their freedom and independence has impressed the world community. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, we have been fighting the occupiers with unity and selflessness, each on our own front line. But probably one of the most striking examples of resistance is Kherson region, a beautiful and fertile region that has been occupied since the first days of the war. Thousands of people gathered here for peaceful rallies, boldly shouting slogans like: “Russia is our enemy,” “The Armed Forces are with us,” “Death to the Russian invaders!” This verbal resistance incredibly consolidated Ukrainian society and proved once again that Kherson region is an integral, incredibly patriotic part of our country.

“Kherson Region is Ukraine!” is an exhibition that is part of an artistic charity project, to the opening of which we invite you on March 3 at 16.00.

The history of this exhibition began with the idea of concerned Tavriyans who were able to leave the occupation and had no moral right to stay away from the problems of their small homeland. At the end of August last year in Uman, they gathered 20 Ukrainian artists at an art residency to reflect on the Kherson region and the events that took place there. These works became the basis of a charity exhibition project that travels to Ukrainian cities to sell paintings for the purchase of military equipment for the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kostyantyn Hordiienko. And after the Victory, it will be used to restore the cultural monuments of Nova Kakhovka, namely the unique ornaments known as “stone embroideries.”

With this project, we say to those who are temporarily under occupation: “Hold on, we are with you, thinking about you, doing everything we can to help!”
