Young Ukrainian artists Yelyzaveta Obukhovska and Mykhailo Korobkov present a joint art exhibition “Destruction/Activation” at the Khmelnytskyi Regional Art Museum.
Our country, our society, and every Ukrainian personally is experiencing destruction. We collapse inside every time we hear the news, every time an air raid alert comes. This is a difficult process of life that we cannot avoid, but if we are already “here”, we must go through this path to touch something new.
Recognizing the inevitability of the consequences, we realize that changes are not transient. Everything is changing right now, from the state of things around us to the consciousness of each of us.
And the next stage will be “Activation”. Activation is an impulse to act, to search for something new, or to revive something forgotten and very important. In the image of women, it is a symbol of the beginning of a new life. It is the connection of the present with the next day, with the day that is approaching. It is the energy that we radiate in the pursuit of freedom, its bright colors and expressive shapes push us to realize the inevitability of a brighter future.
