Dawn angel
Exhibition of works by Natalia Korobova
15 December 2023 - 22 January 2024

From her father, the artist Volodymyr Korobov, Nataliia Korobova inherited not only her talent and habit of hard work, but also his cheerfulness and inner freedom. For Natalia, freedom is life. And each painting is probably a kind of tool with which the artist tells how she perceives life.
In 1998, the artist visited Israel for the first time. She had the opportunity to be inspired and get acquainted with the holy places for every believer, which are concentrated in Jerusalem. It is one of the oldest cities and the center of three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is not surprising that unforgettable impressions overwhelmed the sensitive soul of the artist, because Jerusalem is the city of sorrow and the city of the triumph of the Son of God.
After returning to her native Zaporizhzhia, Nataliia spent more than a month working on her paintings, some of which are now on display at the exhibition “Dawn Angel”. She skillfully reproduces her impressions and emotions with the help of visual means. She conveys the spirit of Jerusalem, God’s grace, which is filled with holy places. She reflects on the meaning of existence, the future and the past, sacrifice and betrayal, hatred and all-embracing love.
The artist’s paintings radiate an incomprehensible energy of gentle calm and encourage meditation, rethinking one’s own strengths and capabilities. Ms. Natalia depicts saints and angels in human form, thus bringing them closer to us, to people. Saints are known for their intercession for people before the Creator. Angels protect us from all evil and symbolize purity, goodness, and faith.
Therefore, the heavenly forces fill our souls with unshakable faith in the victory over the terrible evil that the bloody war brought to our homes – both in Ukraine and, more recently, in Israel. Faith that, despite all the trials, life, goodness, truth, and justice will triumph over death. That after the darkest night, morning will surely come, and the dawn angel will descend from heaven, and God’s grace will reign in our lands. Our ancestors believed that miracles would surely happen on Christmas. We also believe in it!
