Exhibition of posters by Volodymyr Karvasarnyi
23 March 2023 - 24 April 2023

For the artist Volodymyr Karvasarnyi, the poster is not just a statement, but a form of struggle. He is acutely aware of his responsibility as an artist and Ukrainian patriot. The state, faith, war, freedom, love, religion… are topics that the artist constantly addresses because they haunt him, both in terms of Ukrainian history and the present. Through the poster, he conveys the complex range of emotions and the horror of the events that all Ukrainians are experiencing and going through today, speaking without words about this fusion of shocks and uplifts. Karvasarny’s posters are concrete and concise. The artist has achieved this through an expressive characterization of the images, minimizing the details and, in most cases, abandoning them. While working on the poster, the author is looking for new original compositional solutions, a new figurative approach. Therefore, his works have a deep personal character, they are full of expression and internal dynamics. The presented works are painted with paints. The deep, multifaceted Volodymyr Karvasarnyi is an artist who makes you think and does it in his own author’s manner.
