Information about the work
The painting Days of Cossack Glory [Dni kozatskoyi slavy] (canvas, oil, 1990, transferred to the Khmelnytskyi Regional Art Museum collection by the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in 1992). Note the year the work was created—it was painted shortly before the declaration of Ukraine’s independence. The artist constructs a dynamic composition featuring a multitude of blue-and-yellow, Cossack flags and stylized human figures in the shape of a symbolic mountain or peak—symbolizing victory, freedom, independence, and the path toward new achievements. In essence, this is how Volodymyr Patyk envisioned Ukraine 37 years ago.
Oil on canvas. 81 × 100
